Here you can see a trilogy of paintings I felt inspired to produce after watching the season 3 finale episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, where it is revealed that Captain Picard, having been taken hostage by a race of cyborgs called The Borg, has himself been cybernetically altered and assimilated into The Borg, taking on the new name Locutus of Borg. When I first envisioned these paintings, I imagined them having a stylised look similar to the usual look I go for with my work, but as the paintings developed, I realised a more realistic look would better suit them. And you can see this realisation over the course of the three paintings. When it came to the third painting, having added a lot of the shading and different tones, I figured I may as well just go the whole way and see just how realistic I'm capable of painting, and in doing so, discovered I am actually quite good, if I may say so myself!
Below you can see in chronological order  paintings 1, 2 and 3, as well as a speedpaint, so you can see for yourself the creative process I went through!
